3 minute dhokla

Dhokla is the one of the famous and delicious item of Gujarati Food.  It's famous all over India.
You can make it in just few minutes and enjoy it as breakfast or as side dish during lunch and dinner.


Here is a simple recipe to prepare yummy and delicious Dhokla in just 3 minutes to serve 2-3.
Ummm...... It Looks Sooooo Delicious... Isn't It !!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Gram flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt(according to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro leafs (fine chopped)
  • 1 tea spoon mustard seeds
  • 1 or 2 red chilli
  • 1 green chilli (fine chopped) 
  • 1 tea spoon baking powder
  • 1 pouch of ENO(easily available in Indian store)
  • 2-3 table spoon sugar.

Method:
  • In a large pot take gram flour, salt,baking power and mix it.
  • add eno in water and pour it in to pot and mix it well.
  • grease you microwavable pot and pour mix in it.
  • put this in microwave for 3 minutes .Take it out and cool it for 1-2 minutes
  • Mix sugar in approx 5 ml of water and spread all over the cooked dokla.
  • heat the oil in pan and put the mustard seeds and red chilli,chopped green chilli.(tadka)
  • spread this tadka on dokla.
  • garnish it with chopped cilantro leafs.
  • Now serve and enjoy.
Serving suggestion:

You can garnish it with coconut powder.

Stuffed Bhindi (Bharwa Bhindi)

Bhindi is very popular main course vegetable dish.
Serves 2 to 3.




Ingredients:-
  • 1/2 lb bhindi
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red paper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder (dhania)
  • 2 fine chopped onion(It should be very fine)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (haldi)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mango powder (amchoor)
  •  2 table spoon peanuts

Filling:-

1) Heat the sauce pan and roast the peanuts for 4-5 min ( till it gets brown)and keep it aside for cooling.
2)Grind the peanuts and mix it with chopped onion.
3)add all the spices and 1/2 tea spoon of oil in peanuts and onion mix.
4)mix it well so that it will become sticky.(if you feel its less sticky then add few drops of oil again)


Method:-

1)Wash the bhindi and pat dry. Make sure that Bhindi is full dry.
2)Cut off the both ends of the bhindi,and make long slits on bhindi, Set aside.
3)put the filling in each bhindi and keep it aside.
4)Heat the oil in frying pan and put filling if remaining after filling in bhindi and fry it till it gets brown.
5)put the Bhindi in pan one by one.(Make sure filling side should be pan facing side)
6)Cover it and leave it for 5-7 minutes on medium heat.
7)remove the cover and flip over the Bhindi and leave it for 7-8 minutes.
8)Check it if it has been cooked then turn of the heat else cook it for few more minutes.
9)Serve Hot :)

Serving Suggestions:
1)Add chopped coriander leafs.

Pasta in Indian style

Want to enjoy Pasta in Indian way?

Here is the simple recipe for making pasta with Indian taste. Serve with a side of salad and bread.
Recipe will serve 4 to 6.

Pasta in Indian style
Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole grain pasta (you can use any shape of pasta)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt(according to taste)
  • 2 onion (fine chopped in slice)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 3/4 teaspoon black paper
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 1/2 table spoon ranch
  • 1 green chilli (fine chopped)

Method:
  • In a large pot boil the pasta with water for 12-15 minutes.
  • After water comes to the boiling point, add little bit of salt and drops of oil.
  • Cook the pasta until it is just tender, not too soft. Drain the water and set pasta aside.
  • When pasta is boiling take sauce pan and oil till it gets heated.
  • Add chopped onion, fry it for 4-5 minute on medium flame till it gets light brown.
  • Add tomato ketchup,vinegar,black paper, green chilli, ranch and stir for few seconds.
  • Add the boiled pasta in this and stir for 1-2 minutes until pasta is well coated with sauce.
  • Now serve hot.
Serving suggestion:
Serve pasta with slice of toasted bread and green salad.

Sweet Corn Chat

Sweet Corn Chat is very less time consuming recipe.This will serve for 2-3.  

Sweet Corn Chat


Ingredients:
  • 2 cup sweet corn
  • 1/2 tsp salt(according to the taste)
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 1 tsp chopped cilantro (green coriander)
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder 
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 table spoon Lime juice
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1 chopped onion


Making Sweet Corn Chat:

Boil corn for 5-7 minutes.
Mix all ingredients and enjoy!

Variations
Try adding 1 spoon butter in boiled corn, this will give a different flavor to your chat.

Serving Suggestions
It can be serve as side dish or as a salad in lunch.

Besan Chila or Besan Paratha

Generally Parathas are whole-wheat Indian flat bread. Here we are using gram flour not whole wheat.Parathas can be made plain or stuffed with many different fillings.This recipe is very less time consuming recipe.This will make 6/7 chilla.  


Besan Chila

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1 1/2 cup water (Use more as needed)
  • 1/2 tsp Carom seed
  • 1/4 tsp salt(according to the taste)
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 1 tsp chopped cilantro (green coriander)
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Oil to cook

    Making Chilla
    1. Put all the ingredients except water in a big bowl.
    2. Now start adding small quantities of water to make a smooth batter, so that there should be no lumps in it.
    3. Add water till it comes to a dropping consistency or just like dosa batter. now keep it aside.
    4. Now heat a non-stick- tawa or heavy bottom frying pan, then turn the heat on medium. put little oil on tawa [1tsp.] & spread 1 serving spoonful of batter evenly on it.
    5. Cover it with lid just for a minute so that it should cook inside also. then remove lid, put some more oil on the top & turn it upside down.
    6. Let it be brown & crispy from both sides.
    7. Repeat the same with rest of the batter.
    8. Serve hot with green chutney or sause. it can be taken with toast also.
    Variations
    Try adding chopped onion and tomato. If you are feeling hard to mix the batter then first mix the water and gram flour in mixer and then add rest of the ingredient.

    Serving Suggestions
     Chilla can be served with tomato chutney,green chatni.

    Sooji Halwa

    Sooji Halwa is a very popular sweet dish all over India and is made on religious occasions, as parsad (offering to God). After prayer Halwa is served to devotees as a blessing.
    Makes 4 servings.  

    Sooji Halwa


    Ingredients:
    • 1/2 cup sooji (rava, semolina flour)
    • 1/4 cup ghee (clear butter)
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 1 1/2cup water
    • Pinch of cardamom powder
    • 1 tble spoon sliced almonds for garnish
    Method:
    1. Boil the water with sugar, and cardamom powder in a pan over low medium heat. Bring to a boil and Set aside.
    2. Melt the butter in a frying pan on medium heat.
    3. Add sooji and roast to golden brown color, stirring constantly this will take about 5 to 7 minutes. Sooji will be golden brown in color and will have a light sweet aroma.
    4. Add the syrup slowly, as you add the syrup to sooji water will splatter.
    5. Turn down the heat to medium low and let it cook for about 2-3 minutes.
    6. Sooji will absorb the water, as the Halwa cools so keep Halwa a little more softer then you want.
    7. Garnish with almonds.
    Serving suggestion:
    1. Serve hot for best taste. If you like, garnish with shaved pistachio, almonds or shredded coconut.
    2. For breakfast serve with aloo poori.
    3. For prashad serve with dry chana masala
    Variations:
    Instead of water add 1 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of water and keep Halwa a little thicker. Pour the Halwa on a greased plate, keep it about 1/2 inch thick. Garnish with shaved almonds or pistachio or shredded coconut, and let it cool for about a half an hour. Cut the Halwa in square or diamond shapes like burfee.
